Issue with the streaming dataset

Hello,

Context:

My team have prepared streaming dataset and we are keeping it on our team workspace.

Based on that dataset, we created a few dashboards (we all manage those workspaces and dashboards), which are kept in other workspaces for other teams.

But one of the team want to use our dataset to create their own dashboard in their workspace.

So we shared this dataset with them (gave them 'read, reshare, build' permissions). But they still cannot see that dataset and use it in their reports.

What can be the problem here?

Do they miss any privilages and permissions?

Thanks for all the support!

Hi @AN_Support ,

Hope all is going well.

I tested your question:

First, I created a streaming dataset. I found that after it is created, it cannot be clicked to share like other datasets, so the streaming dataset cannot be seen and the streaming dataset cannot be shared.

The only way to visualize a streaming dataset is to add tile and use the streaming dataset as a custom streaming data source.

For more content about the streaming dataset, see the "Types of Real-Time Semantic Models" section "Streaming Semantic Model" section of the document.

Thank you @v-huijiey-msft for quick response. That is very interesting and unexpected.

Right now the layers looks like this:

Workspace A (for developers):
- streaming dataset

Workspace B and ohter:
- Report based on Streaming dataset
- Dashboard with tiles created in Report and pinned to it.

So if I understand correctly, there is no possibility to share the streaming dataset. But I can only create new reports and share those reports with other teams, so they can use them in their  own Dashboards. Is that correct?

Hi @AN_Support ,

Yes, you cannot see and share streaming dataset directly.

But you can create a new dashboard and add tile in this dashboard based on the streaming dataset.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me.
