Issue with new Paginated Report Visual when Embedded

We are testing out the new Paginated Report Visual within Power BI reports. We have multiple uses cases for this kind of functionality and so were excited to be able to use it (FYI one use case will be resolved with the upcoming export to excel with formatting, but there are others situations as well such as speed, reusability, flexibility without needing to design custom visuals). However, one deal breaker is that it doesn't work for us when using the PBI report through embedded. We've tested this through our application and through the PBI playground sandbox and the visual is just blank. Directly in the desktop or the service, the visual comes up fine for the PBI report. Is this a known limitation or issue or is this something we may be able to resolve?

I'm not sure when they added the fix - but in order for a paginated visual to work with embed you need to create a multi-resource authentication token. We are using this in our application for it to work.

We encountered a similar issue until we found that the PBI dataset (used as data source for the paginated report) was not supported for embedded (see link below).  Yes, we were surprised and frustrated with Microsoft not yet supporting the PBI dataset source in embedded.

Embed paginated reports in your Power BI embedded analytics application - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

We resolved this issue by pivoting to a supported data source for embedded (e.g.: ODBC).

is this fixed?  i'm trying to use the paginated visual in power bi dashboard. it works in power bi service. but its not loading after embeded in web application. other visuals are loading.

I agree this looks not supported at the moment on embedded, Maybe you could log a ticket. This may be supported in future release probably. However with embedded I could do this earlier with using both pbix and Paginated seperately within 2 frames on a single page, pasing selected thereby creating a visual experience similar to current Paginated visual. Both pbix and paginated being filtered using query params.

I think a good practical use case would be a detail listing table within the same page as PBI visuals. As the user clicks on summarized data (what tabular does best) related detail rows in exportable form can come up with well formatted for print data (what paginated and SQL does best). While the embed application could pick up on clicks within PBI, I think it's easier development if it didn't need to be aware of those interactions.

could you please illustrate more about your expectation and current scenario with example

One small update. When I was originally testing this functionality, the visuals would just come up blank. Now I do get this message:

I've not seen this in the documentation that embed wasn't supported for the paginated reporting visual. Considering that paginated reporting directly to a report is supported for embed, I would think this is something that should be resolved in time. I hope so because it is a good feature.
