Issue with creating new data sources on On-premises gateway

Hi All


I am in the process of setting up another user with admin rights to be able to manage reports on Power BI service. 
This user has taken over all reports in the workspaces, has Owner rights to all the existing data sources and Admin rights for the on-premises data gateway. 

When the new user is trying to create a new data source on the gateway the following error comes up 
"Unable to create data source. The on-premises data gateway's service account failed to impersonate the user"

I am not too sure what is missing, could this be an issue with the user's account or something to do with the initial setup of the gateway?

    Hi HB13 ,

     

    This could be permissions with that data source specifically OR it could be that you don't have the Data Source correctly configured on the one that you are trying to install (a common issue for example on files is not to use the FQDN).  Can you confirm that the userid has access to the actual data source?  And, confirm that the connection string is correct?  We can go from there!
