Issue with Visual Level FIlter Top N not working in Service

I have a dataset that is refreshed daily at noon and at 5:30 pm. So I have a visual that is supposed to display the latest updated figure. This worked when I applied the Top 1 filter by the latest time in Desktop. I have locked the filter on this visual but when I published it in Power BI Service, the filter is not applied. And viewing the report after 5:30pm will have the figure summed up both the data from noon and from the 5:30pm instead of showing only the latest one. I'm really confused why the filter is suddenly not applied in service when it worked fine in Desktop. Please help.

    Hey Anonymous ,

     

    I would do the last refresh date in Power Query:

    How to Add the Last Refreshed Date and Time to a Power BI Report (enhansoft.com)

     

    Like this you are not dependent from the data, but it really shows the day/time when the report was refreshed. Otherwise, once there is no new data you don't know if the error is in the data or in the refresh. Like this you see if the report was refreshed or not.

      Hi, thank you for your suggestion. But in my case, there is no problem with the data being fed into the report adn the refresh part. It's really the problem with the top N filter not being applied in the service when I have put the filter in desktop. This has caused the visual to display a summed up data instead of the latest data.

    Hi Anonymous ,

     

    Based on the information you provided, I cannot reproduce your problem. I did the following test: Use Top N to filter the data in powerbi desktop, and then publish it to the service. The data displayed in the service is still the data filtered according to the Top N. Can you provide detailed information and screenshots of the operation so that I can do further testing.

    After publish to Power BI Service.
