Thank you.

For our clients in Australia this issue was resolved. The product team at Microsoft rolled out a fix towards the end of March. Thanks MS!

A BI expert also shared a workaround for this issue is to make a change to the 'Icon layout' property and republish the report to the PBI service. This could be helpful to get a fix in sooner until MS resolve the underlying problem.

Thanks for your post and your suggestion - unfortunately I have KPIs in a number of Cubes connected to a large number of BI report so it isn't as simple as switching the KPI measure from Shapes to Arrows (although I may consider using a different type after this!).

I have registered it as an issue with MS and have calls with their Tech Support scheduled. I've relayed your screenshot of the CSS.

Hi @JohnB_MUFC ,

Our clients have raised the same colouring issue with the KPIs, and one of our helpful architects tracked it down to a CSS problem at Microsoft's end. There is a css class which is overriding the expected KPI colour with black - you can use the browser dev tools to dive in deeper behind the scenes and temporarily remove the black to expose the underlying colour. The same report showing black glyphs in the browser displays the KPI colours just fine in the Power BI desktop.

The above info doesn't help the consumers of the report who need to see the correct colours though, and given it is an issue with the PBI service the best course of action would be to raise a support case with MS to have it fixed like we are doing.

Hi @JohnB_MUFC
Thank you for reaching out microsoft fabric community forum.
If the data feeding into the KPI tool has changed or is incomplete, it might cause the visualization to default to a single color (black in this case).

  •  Try refreshing the page or restarting the application.
  •  Review the settings or configuration of the KPI tool to ensure the color mappings are correct.
  •  Ensure that the software is up to date, as updates often fix known bugs.

If you need any further assistance or have any questions, please feel free to reach  us.

If this solution helps, please consider giving us Kudos and accepting it as the solution so that it may assist other members in the community.

Thank you.

Hello,

- Try refreshing the page or restarting the application. Not sure what you mean by this. This is all BI reports published in the Service.

- Review the settings or configuration of the KPI tool to ensure the color mappings are correct. These are standard Cube/KPIs using the 'Shapes' KPI. You don't specify colours as they're automatically generated Red / Yellow / Green. I've tested changing to Road Signs (also Red / Yellow / Green) and these are all black. The white down arrow when sorting the standard Matrix table is also black - not KPI related.

- Ensure that the software is up to date, as updates often fix known bugs. Power BI Desktop is the latest version and shows the KPIs in the correct colour (always has done). This issue is when published in the Service. The Power BI Gateway is also the latest version.

Any other suggestions?
