Hi everyone,
I'm encountering an issue with a dashboard I created in Power BI Desktop that uses a Scatter Plot with a Play Axis.
In Power BI Desktop, when I press play, the transition between years is smooth, and the values move fluidly as expected. However, after publishing the report to Power BI Service, the smooth transition is lost. The play axis still works, but the transition between years becomes abrupt and jarring, lacking the smooth animation I see in the desktop version.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Is there a known workaround or setting that needs to be adjusted to maintain the smooth transitions when viewing the report in Power BI Service?

You can also find the pbix file in this link: scatter_plot_play_axis_transition.pbix
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!
Solved! Go to Solution.
Confirmed, also with the independent play axis visual.

I actually have the opposite issue. In Power BI Desktop, I basically get a slideshow of the visual, while in the Power BI Service, the transitions are smooth.
Hi @edchuy
I had to open a ticket with Microsoft. An agent called me, and I showed him the issue.
We extracted some logs, and they identified a bug that they fixed in the September release. However, I just tested it on Power BI Desktop and noticed that the transition has some glitches.
Maybe they fixed it on one side and broke it on another 😅
Like @lbendlin mentioned below, if you have a PRO account, I recommend you to also open a ticket with Microsoft.
