Issue with SQL Server Connector - Power BI Desktop and MS Fabric Service
Hi, just wondering if anyone else is experiencing issues with Power BI Desktop and the MS Fabric Service with the SQL Server connector.
I'm using the SQL Server connector on a legacy dataflow (running through a gateway) in the Fabric Service (Premium Capacity) and keep getting an refresh failure "The server name provided doesn't match the server name on the SQL Server SSL certificate".
I am also experiencing the same issue with Power BI Desktop.
On further investigation, and this is the really confusing part, the same SQL Server connection works when I try running the same query using Power Query in Excel (again running through the same gateway configuration).
Our IT team have confirmed that they have not made any changes to the SQL Server instance and I can also connect to the SQL Server using VS Code and SQL Server Management Studio with no issues.
Yes. Latest Gateway release and latest version of PBI Desktop.
I have found this as well. Clearly a known issue.
