Issue with Powerbi.Com URL

for a while URL for my report, worked for a while it is like 

Https://Powerbi.com/groups.........   

now, the URL is redirecting to app.powerbi which is making the links on App are not working

Https://app.Powerbi.com/groups.........   

what Is the difference between these, why is it suddenly happening

For as long as I have used Power BI in the service I have used app.powerbi.com

I would suggest always using app.powerbi.com going forward.
