Issue with Power BI Online Connection to Azure PostgreSQL - Missing Assembly 'System.Runtime.Compile
- 1 year ago
Good afternoon everyone! Check your reports because the error is solved. At least in my case where I connect to a base that is located on a web server.
Greetings!!
Hi zeromero
We have seen on the internal platform that other engineers have reported this issue and submitted it.
The engineers on the product team are now aware and will do their best to resolve the issue. I will update here if there is any progress, so please be patient!
Possible mitigation measures given by PG:
- Reuse an existing shared Cloud connection to connect to PostgreSQL Create and share cloud data sources in the Power BI service - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
- Create a new connection in Dataflows and use this new connection while connecting to PostgreSQL
- Create a connection using a Data Gateway

Hi Community Support Team _ Ailsa Tao,
The existing PostgreSQL connections do not work (they appear offline) and Power BI Service does not allow to create new PostgreSQL cloud connections (see attached image).
Do you have an ETA to solve the issue?

This is similar to what I'm encountering also. Trying to create a new shared connection fails -
Error Message: "Unable to create connection for the following reason: Unable to connect to the data source. Either the data source is inaccessible, a connection timeout occurred... etc. "
