Issue with Gateway and cloud connections
Hi, I recently finished a On-Premisses data gateway and the status is online.
But when I go to add as schedulle refresh to my report, I faced the following error:
"Not configure correctly"
What am I missing? Is a ODBC connection
Hi Beto_Zambom , Could yoy try these please
- Ensure the gateway is installed in the same region as your Power BI tenant and is online.
- Add the ODBC data source in Manage Gateways with matching connection details from Power BI Desktop.
- Test the connection in the gateway settings to ensure it's working.
- Map your dataset to the correct gateway under Gateway connection in Power BI Service.
- Verify credentials and permissions for the data source and gateway.
If this post helped please do give a kudos and accept this as a solution
Thanks In Advance

Hi Beto_Zambom,
Thank you for bringing up this query in the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.
Also, a big thanks to Akash_Varuna for providing such a comprehensive response, those are excellent steps to get started. I’d like to acknowledge the guidance shared above and add a few additional points that might further assist you in troubleshooting the issue:
- Please ensure that the ODBC driver installed on the machine hosting the On-Premises Data Gateway is the same version as the one used during development in Power BI Desktop. Sometimes mismatched driver versions can lead to connectivity issues or errors.
- If you’re using a DSN (Data Source Name) in Power BI Desktop, ensure that the same DSN is configured on the machine running the Gateway.
- Alternatively, if you’re using a DSN-less connection string in Power BI Desktop, make sure you replicate that exact connection string in the Gateway setup.
- If you continue facing issues, consider checking the On-Premises Data Gateway logs for more detailed error information. This can provide insights into connection failures or configuration mismatches.
If this helps, then please Accept it as a solution and dropping a "Kudos" so other members can find it more easily.
Thank you.- v-ssriganesh
