Issue with Exporting Data from Power BI

Hello, my name is Inkara. I'm from Kazakhstan.

I’m experiencing an issue -  I can’t download the required data from the Power BI report, neither from my workspace nor from the Power BI Service. When I try to export the data, the “Export data” this option is inactive (I even not able to see it).

Could you please help me resolve this issue or provide the setting that shoud be set up to export the data?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

You can reach me on Telegram - @inkarall or help me here.

Best regards,
Inkara

Hi @Inkara

Did the report developer disable exporting data?

  1. Open your report in Power BI Desktop.
  2. Go to File > Options and settings > Options.
  3. Under Current File > Report settings, uncheck "Don't allow end users to export data".

  1. Open the report in Power BI Service.
  2. Click on the More options (•••) menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Settings > Export Data

Why “Export Data” Might Be Missing in Power BI

Report settings: Export may be disabled in the .pbix file.
Visual header hidden: No export icon if header is off.
Permissions: You need Build access to the dataset.
Tenant settings: Admin may have disabled export.
Sensitivity labels: Confidential data may block export

Hi @Inkara ,

If it is not working at all, you may need to confirm with your Tenant admin that "export data" option is turned on.  You should also confirm that it is turned on within your file.  AND, you need to make sure that you have the right permissions in the Service to do so as well (in the service app or the service workspace).
