Hello everyone,
I have a somewhat straightforward issue when it comes to uploading some tables from Excel to Power BI as a semantic model. PowerBI keeps picking them up as a measure. I have tried deleting the table and making a new one, and have checked the format type is correct for the cells yet it still picks it up as a measure - any advice? Here is a screenshot of one of the tables not being picked up correctly
On the Semantic Model upload I am greeted with this.
Any advice would be great as I could not find a lot online 🙂
Thank you!
Hi @DylanPowBI ,
If I understand correctly, the issue is that you had error when uploading some tables to Power BI. Please try the following methods and check if they can solve your problem:
1.Ensure that the data type of the column is set correctly. If the column contains text, make sure that the data type is set to text and not number.
2.Check if there are any hidden columns in the table that might be causing the issue.
3.Make sure that there are no unintended relationships causing the columns to be used as measure.
4.Create the new Excel file, create the new table and copy the data into the new file.
5.Delete the problem table from the Power BI and reimport the table.
Best Regards,
Wisdom Wu
Hi, thank you for the advice. Unfortunately nothing from the above is getting them to be accepted as Tables, always a few show up as measures, and it is seemingly random each time. I will have to keep investigating this. I have also noticed that previously uploaded Excel datasets are now showing up with tables half filled with measures...very strange.
Thanks for the advice
