Issue refreshing a SAP (connector 2.0)

Hi all,

I've experienced issues while trying to setup automatic refresh of a BW4 datasource in power BI service.

-> Dataset is using connector 2.0

-> I'm not using SSO and the account is working fine

-> The gateway is up and running & there are no firewall issues (with our onprem BW server) on the machine running it

-> .Net connector 3.0 is installed on the machine (x64 version)

-> I'm using import data

-> The report works fine on power bi desktop and refreshes without any problem ( & it has very little data in it).

In power bi service, when i try to create the connection, i get the following message:

pbt_0-1648570508427.png

However, connector 2.0 isn't supposed to use the RFC libraries.

-> I even installed SAP GUI on the machine (that comes with some libraries)

Have you guys any idea of what did i do wrong?

Thx

Best regards

Yes, the described configuration is on the gateway server.

I installed the .Net Connector with assemblies to GAC as described on MS website: Use the SAP Business Warehouse (BW) Connector in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

As its working in power bi desktop, can you test the same file on gateway server and see if this works

Have you installed same driver with same configuration on gateway server as well ?

Also make sure installing the driver with all options selected would help
