Issue of Invalid Data Credentials

Hi Everyone,
I'm encountering an issue with invalid data credentials while using Power BI Premium License. Here's a description of the problem:
I have connected my data source through a web API with HTTP parameters using a bearer token in Power BI Desktop’s Get Data from Web function, where I utilized a bearer token as the credentials. When I refreshed the data in Power BI Desktop, everything worked flawlessly. However, upon publishing the report to the Power BI Service, I encountered difficulties with refreshing the datasets. Specifically, I received an error indicating invalid data credentials.
To address this issue, I have taken the following steps:
1)Verified the bearer token: I ensured that the bearer token I used in Power BI Desktop was still valid and not expired. If the token    had expired, I obtained a new one from the API provider and updated it in my Power BI Desktop file.
2)Checked the data source settings in Power BI Desktop: I carefully reviewed the data source settings in Power BI Desktop to ensure consistency with the settings used in the Power BI Service. I paid close attention to details such as the API endpoint, headers, authentication method, and any other necessary configurations.
3)Republished the report: To rule out any potential synchronization issues, I republished the report to the Power BI Service. This step ensured that the credentials were properly established within the Power BI Service.

4)Verified credentials in Power BI Service: I accessed the Power BI Service and confirmed that the data source credentials matched the ones used in Power BI Desktop. I made any necessary adjustments or updates to ensure consistency between the two environments.
Despite diligently following these steps, I have been unable to resolve the issue. Therefore, I am seeking guidance and assistance from the Power BI community to help identify the root cause of the invalid data credentials error and find a suitable solution.
Thank you in advance for your support and expertise.

Hi , @azure12

According to my troubleshooting experience, generally if Power BI gives an "Invalid credential" error, in addition to the fact that the credential you provided to Power BI to connect to the data source is indeed invalid, there is another possibility that the connection is from Power BI The network traffic of the data source is blocked by the firewall or rules at the data source end. This is because the Power BI desktop has always used a fixed IP address to connect to the data source, but the IP address used by the Power BI service to connect to the data source is random. It is fixed and will be updated regularly. One solution to this potential problem is that you can try to install the on-premise data gateway on the computer where Power BI desktop is successfully connected to the data source, as a bridge to help Power BI service connect to the data source. Because the IP address of the connection data source used by the on-premise data gateway is also fixed. You can refer to these two official documents:

Install an on-premises data gateway | Microsoft Learn

Add or remove a gateway data source - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Thank you for your time and sharing, and thank you for your support and understanding of PowerBI!
