The URL will not change when you change the name of the workspace. The URL is made up of GUIDs, which do not change.
Nevertheless changing a workspace name will have unintended consequences. The original name lives on and will pop up in the most unexpected places.
Do you have an example for one of the unexpected places?
I understand the change will impact dataflows, semantic model etc.
