Is that mandatory to have Premium workspace for creating paginated report?

Hi All,

To work on paginated report, do we need a premium workspace as mandatory?

I tried to create a paginated report in Power BI service in a pro workspace, I was able to create a report and save successfully. Also I am able to download the report and have the option to export report in multiple formats (Eg: PDF, PPT)

However, it's working in pro workspace, some of my collegues mentioned that to work in paginated report, premium workspace is mandatory.

Could you please advice, do you need a premium capacity to work in paginated or we can achieve the same in pro workspace.

If premium is mandatory for certain features in paginated report, please mention the same.

Thank you.

Hellow @Arioli_Chezhian ,

The License requirements for Paginated reports doesn't speicify only Premium workspace

Further below are the things in detail

  1. Creating and Publishing Paginated Reports:

    • You don’t need a Power BI Pro license or a Premium Per User (PPU) license to create paginated reports or to publish them to My Workspace in the Power BI service.
    • However, if you want to publish paginated reports to other workspaces, you’ll need either a Power BI Pro license or a PPU license.
    • Users with free, Pro, and PPU licenses can view the content.
  2. Capacity Requirements:

    • Paginated reports are available as part of a Power BI Pro license without needing to purchase a Premium capacity.
    • The size of recommended Premium/Fabric capacity depends on expected usage. You can estimate the required capacity size using the capacity planning documentation.
