Is "Make a copy" supported in Apps?

Hi,

It seems like Microsoft wants to shut down content packs, so we're thinking about moving towards apps. However, I can't figure out how to properly set up a very basic feature of content packs, this is "make a copy".

The way I'm looking at it, users can either have full control and edit the original dashboard, or just read it. But there doesn't seem to be any option in the middle for allowing a user to copy a dashboard that can be manipulated without affecting all other users' experience.

I can see advantages of using apps (e.g. permanent link), but if this feature isn't supported, what's really the point of apps?

No, it's not supported to "make a copy" for App. When other users get this App, they can only view the dashboards/reports with the data. They can't make their own reports/dashboards with included datasets. You may submit a feature request on idea
