Is it possible to share a single connection to authenticate multiple SQL Analytics Endpoint?

In my scenario, I have to deploy multiple reports (import mode), each connecting to its own Lakehouse via SQL Analytics Endpoint. I want to keep the deployment process and maintenance tasks as simple as possible. I need to know if there is a way to avoid creating a different connection for each report so that they can all share a single connection with specific credentials.

Thank you very much.

Hello @rsouto

Each SQL Analytics Endpoint in Microsoft Fabric requires its own unique connection string. However, it is possible to use a single authentication method to connect to multiple SQL Analytics Endpoints, although each connection will still need its own specific connection string.
These connection strings contain specific information about the endpoint, including the server name and database name, which are unique to each Lakehouse or Warehouse.

While each endpoint requires its own connection string, you can use the same authentication method (either a user principal or a service principal) to connect to multiple endpoints.

Hope this helps

Hi @rsouto

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

I appreciate @nilendraFabric  for your accurate response. Additionally, Please consider the following:

  • Utilize Service Principals: If you are managing multiple reports, a service principal can help automate authentication across various SQL Analytics Endpoints.

  • Consolidate Data: To simplify your deployment and maintenance processes, consider the workaround by consolidating your data into a single Lakehouse. This approach allows you to use one SQL Analytics Endpoint for multiple reports, minimizing the need to manage separate connections for each report.

Please refer to the following Microsoft documentation for further details:
