Is it possible to export a streaming dataset?

I have several streaming datasets and due to a problem whereby datetime fields have no date hierarchy, I was rather hoping that I might just export the data.

Having spent a few hours poking around and looking at the UI and the REST APIs, it seems impossible.  I just hope that I'm doing something stupid.

I don't think it is possible to do it currently. I would suggest you to submit this requirement on Power BI Ideas.
