Invalid credentials when trying to connect to data source to create dataflow

Hello,

I am trying to create a dataflow in the power bi service, selecting the "Add new entities" option. The data source that I select is from Text/CSV. I enter the file path, then select the on-premises data gateway I created. By default it gives me the Windows authification kind. I put my Windows username and password but it gives me invalid credentials. Has anyone been through the same trouble?

    Hi Anonymous ,

Do you enter the domain when you entered the username? As my tested, if you do not enter domain, the issue will appear.

    Best Regards,

    Icey

      Hello Icey

      Thank you for your response.

I do enter the domain. It is the one mentioned on my account profile under the "Your info" section. But it doesn't work. I will check again with our IT.

I have found solution to this problem

I creatwd a dataflow in the power bi service, selecting the "Add new tables" option. The data source that I select is from Text/CSV. I enter the file path, then select the on-premises data gateway I created. By default it gives me the Windows authification kind. I put my Windows username and password but I was getting error of  invalid credentials.

I tried putting windows username which in "Email and Accounts", is under "Add work or School account". For me , Its gmail account and it specifies that "All Apps can sign me in", the i put corresponding  password and it worked.
