Often, the credentials resetting is based on a token expiring and/or the password changing. Since you are using a custom API that might have something to do with it too. In looking at other incidents similar to this the answer always seems to be "create a ticket" so if you don't think it is an expiring token, then please create a ticket with Microsoft. AND, please update us here with the result to help us all for next time.
