Intermittent DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_CanceledError

They gave the same response to us, but did not explain why the error occurs only with datasets connected to the SQL Server.
We have datasets connected to Analysis Services that are working normally.

Glad I found this thread to see that I'm not alone, but sad to see that there's no solution in sight still. 

We've been experiencing these random and frequent refresh failures for two or three weeks now, and it's a huge issue. Which refreshes fail appears random, but it's a ton each day. 

I have updated to the latest gateway (March update), restarted the service and the server it lives on, etc. No improvement. 

I really pray Microsoft can fix this soon because it's affecting our highest priority reporting and financials company-wide right now.

Quick update:

Saw one user post that rolling back to the September 2024 version of the gateway fixed things for them, so I decided to test it myself.

I installed the September version as a second, separate gateway instance and started pointing a bunch of models that had been consistently failing to refresh with the Gateway Cancelled error for weeks. After testing about 10 of them or so, none of them have failed yet when connecting through the September 2024 gateway.

So I think it's very likely that the underlying issue lies with the last few months of gateway updates. This would ideally need to be fixed in a near-future update so we can apply it to our main install because you can't roll back to an older version without completely uninstalling the newer one first.

For now I'm keeping some of our most important stuff connected to this September test gateway to minimize failures, but we'd really need for a hotfix update to the newer gateway install long-term.
