Hi
Complete noob on data integration but have worked with dashboards and reports in Power bi
My question is my workplace have a multi channel system called "elucid" (I don't know how familiar anyone is with this?)
https://cdn2.hubspot.net/hub/164674/file-18277886-pdf/docs/elucid-brochure.pdf
How do I get data out of the system and into power bi - there are so many options and it blows my mind.
Would 90% of the options work e.g. Azure, ODBC connector, dataflow etc?
Or
Are there certain connectors that need to be used depending on the system?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Hi @JB0510 ,
You can check with there support -how it stores the data, rest API documentation etc,..these things will be helpful integrating it with power bi.
I hope it will be helpful.
Thanks,
Sai Teja
Hi @JB0510 ,
It's been a while since I heard back from you and I wanted to follow up. Have you had a chance to try the solutions that have been offered? Looking forward to your reply!
I've not had a chance to try out the suggestions, there isn't a specific connector available so i think i'll be going down the ODBC route but i think that means I have to write a SQL query? unsure if it'll just bring in all the tables and i can write the query in power query?
Hi. Power Bi gets data from databases or web services (doors that some softwares will open to let users query specific data). If you are working with any software you can take a look at the list of connectors that Power Bi has. If you can't find your software there, it's because it's probably not very popular or they haven't build a web service to let you connect. The best idea is always to communicate with software support and request a way to access your data. Depending on the companies they should assist you explaning how you can connect to the data. It could be because you have a database when the software was installed, or they have a web service available for you to use.
Depending on the answer, the type of connector you would use. Power Bi has almost all database connectors, if it doesn't have it, you can ask if you can connect with ODBC (it's a standard connection). If it's a web service you could probably connect to an API or OData (just naming so you can ask to support).
I hope that helps,
Happy to help!
