Hi All,
I currently have a PBI App with external access including RowlevelSecurity for external users to access. In most cases, the external users are able to gain access (after we've setup the tenant, AAD etc) with MFA from a QR code that appears when they access the PBI link.
There are however a number of users who are experiencing issues in accessing the PBI app.
* Some see a PBI account creation screen when clicking the link, but when they fill out the form they don't receive the verification code sent to their email to complete the account creation so unable to go into the next step of setting up the MFA
* Some see an OWL error message
* Users who have previously accessed the PBI now are directed to the PBI "Let's get you started Screen" during login process, even though the email address was sucessfully logged in previously.
* Have one user who has sucessfully setup the MFA on their phone and inputted the code on the computer, but then returns a white screen once logged on. They have tested on several pc's and different browsers.
Are there any step by step instructions on what the external user needs to follow that I could povide as a starting point for these users that are struggling? We have the following instructions, but it doesn't work in all cases. ie Step 1, some users see a different PBI account screen, so do these users need to create this first and then log into Microsoft before Step 3 which is MFA on their phone?
I hope the following instructions also helps others but need to add additional detail to overcome some user issues as mentioned above.
Step 1
Click PBI link provided. You should see a Microsoft Sign Page like below
Step 2
Enter you email address that has been approved for PBI. Click Next to proceed
Step 3
Download the Microsoft Authenticator app from either of the public App stores - Google or Apple.
Step 4
Once downloaded, in the Microsoft Authenticator app, click the add button
Step 5

Step 6

After scanning the QR code, the login sequence will proceed
Step 7
