Installing Gateway in Azure
Is installing the data gateway on a VM in Azure supported?
We are creating a SharePoint 2016 farm in Azure and I would like to know if we will be able to connect to it through a Data Gateway.

Yes, you can install the On-Premises Data Gateway(not the Personal Gateway) on the VM in Azure, and configure the data source within the Power BI service in this scenario. :smileyhappy:
