Inquiry about publishing a public board

Hello, good morning, I wanted to make a very concise query and it happens because my company wants to publish reports in a public way.
I was investigating and there is a way to do it through the PBI Service but I do not see the option.
Then I started to find out and I found that in order to publish in a public way I need a PBI Premium license, but even so, there are blogs that do not indicate a specific license and only comment that it should be done in this way and if I do not see the option is because I do not have it enabled.

If someone would be so kind to explain me a little more summarized this issue, I was reading documentation and I can not find the information to tell me if I need PBI Premium or PBI Embedded or is free.

Thank you very much for your time and I remain attentive to any kind of information.

  • Hi. You don't need a pay licence to do this. You can even do it with a free one. If you can't se the option it might be for one of two reasons. The first would be that the Power Bi Administrator has disabled the option to let people do that in the organization. This option is visible in the Admin Portal under Tenant Settings for Administrators only (at PowerBi Service). The second posibility is that you are using a feature that won't allow it. You can read about the limitations of publish to web here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-publish-to-web#considerations-and-limitations

I hope one of them help you

Hello, thank you very much for the answer, in relation to this, do you know any video that explains how to have a PBI administrator account, since I was looking around and they don't have one.
I have a video that shows how to modify it, but my company as I said before does not have an administrator account. Unless it is within the Azure Administrator.

Hi. If you don't have any PowerBi administrator you need the Office 365 Administrator to do it or assign PowerBi Admin permission for a person in office administration. I'm not sure if you can do it all in azure because Power Bi is an office product.

There is always at least one admin (the account that created the organization in microsoft).

        I hope that make sense.
