Hey guys!
I have published some reports that are based on different datasets:
Now I would like to publish a new report that is based also on a new dataset:
This report will be also integrated into the app.
In the past, I always used this way to give new users access to the app:
> Update App > Permissions > Add User
Now I would like to restrict the access to the new report for some users.
just a few of them should be able to review the report.
How would you do this?
Somewhere within the PBI service or based on an RLS and specific User Rolles for each email address?

Hi @joshua1990 ,
For this I would restrict it in the APP sharing portion. RLS might do the trick but RLS is about the data IN the report and not necessarily restricting who can get TO the report. And, becaue I always believe in err'ing on the side of caution, I would restrict who I share the report itself with as well. Between restricting it in the report and app (which should be redundant) you should be ok - but, of course, test it with a user that should and a user that should not get to it after you set it up.

Hey @joshua1990 ,
In that App, when you give permissions - just select a specific individual and do not let them have permissions to underlying data or to share the app.

hi @joshua1990 - You will not be able to restrict access to individual reports within an app - you can only control access at an App level.
Hope that helps!

@collinq : Thank you for your support! How would you restrict individual reports for specific users?
In the past I always used this way > Publish App > Permission >
But I think this way the user gets holistic permissions on every report, right?
How can I change/ restrict these assigned users for specific reports?
