Incremental Refresh failed on PBI Service

Hi,

I recently tried Power BI Incremental Refresh. I am refreshing successfully on my local PBI Desktop, but failed when I refresh from Power BI Service.

I am getting the following error:

Error Message:
Last refresh failed: Tue Aug 13 2019 11:57:34 GMT+0200 (Central European Summer Time)
There was an error when processing the data in the dataset.Hide details
Processing error: Token Semicolon expected. Start position: (269, 139). End position (269, 141).. The exception was raised by the IDbConnection interface.
Cluster URI: WABI-NORTH-EUROPE-redirect.analysis.windows.net
Activity ID: b4e4b5cf-dbd3-4ed3-8c8b-xxxxxxxxx
Request ID: 538903cd-604c-c4ce-ee45-xxxxxxxx

Any ideas on how to resolve this would be very helpful.

Many thanks

Chrily

Hi there,

any success resolving this? I just got this same error message also and wondering if there is a fix.

I my case I am trying to implement a Power BI report pulling data from OData data source, using Incremental Refresh.

This is the error from the Data Source refresh:

Last refresh failed: Tue Mar 24 2020 10:09:24 GMT+0100 (Central European Standard Time)
There was an error when processing the data in the dataset.Hide details
Data source error: {"error":{"code":"ModelRefresh_ShortMessage_ProcessingError","pbi.error":{"code":"ModelRefresh_ShortMessage_ProcessingError","parameters":{},"details":[{"code":"Message","detail":{"type":1,"value":"Token Semicolon expected. Start position: (131, 139). End position (131, 141)."}}],"exceptionCulprit":1}}}

Any help/suggestion much appreciated.

Thanks a lot

ok, I think I've fixed this at least for my report.

I our report, we had the two parameters: RangeStart/RangeEnd flagged as "Enable Load".

I wanted to display the values of these two parameters in the report itself so I can see how the values change doring the series of report refreshes.

Unfortunately, it seems like setting the "Enable Load" for these two parameters caused the error "Token Semicolon expected.".

When I unchecked the "Enable Load" flag for these parameters an published the report, the error disappeared and the report dataset got refreshed successfully.

thx,

z.

I had the same issue, and after turning off the "Enable Load" setting on both parameters resolved the issue.

Thanks for posting your fix!

I have the same error, and I don't use incremental update. The error started after I changed the data source from spreadsheet in excel to folder.

Message:

Data source error: Token ',' expected. Start position: (48, 28). End position (48, 38).. The exception was raised by the IDbConnection interface. Table: Measurements.

Hi,

Was this ever resolved? My refresh works without incremental refresh on but when I turn it on I have the identical error as Chrily.

Thanks,

John
