Hi,
I'm having the following situation:
- Published PowerBI dataset in a Premium-Per-User Workspace where the culture is set to "de-CH - German (Switzerland)"
- A PowerBI report with a live connection to the dataset
- The language in the PowerBI service set to "Default (browser)", the configured language in the browser (Chrome) set to "German/Switzerland"
The report shown in the browser is formatted correctly. The number formatting is correct according to Swiss-German locale (example of formatted number: 88'100.00).
After exporting the report to the PDF the exported PDF file has incorrect number formatting (US formating; example: 88.100,00).
How is it possible to controle the locale/regional setting in the exported PDF?
Best regards,
Saso
Hi @sasok
Try to go into the Settings menu in Chrome and search for “Language”, and it’s not just the default display language that matters the order is also important. Moving “German/Switzerland” to the top of the list, then deleting cached images and files.
You can refer to the following link.

Hi,
I have this correctly configured in Chrome.
The display in the browser is correct.
However, when I export the report to PDF - the number formatting in the exported PDF is not correct.
It seems the "Export to PDF" does not pick up the settings.
Hi @sasok
The function of exporting to PDF from Power BI Service have some limitation. It can't guarantee the exported PDF from the Power BI service will always match the exported PDF from a local Power BI Desktop file, you can refer to the following link.
Maybe you can try to export it from Power BI Desktop.

Is there a way to control/fix the regional setttings of the exported PDFs from service?
Exporting it from Power BI Desktop is unfortunatelly not an alternative. The users only have access to the curated reports in the service. And the plan is to create subscriptions where the reports will be send to emails in PDF format...
Hi @sasok
It seems that there is no way to achieve this for the time being.
Perhaps you can vote on this idea as an idea on the IDEA website
