Import from OneDrive and SharePoint greyed out
- 1 year ago
AndyBurnsNHS it turned out to be an internal IT policy that was changed! Option is now not greyed out but can't access the sharepoint site....Assume another policy needs to be looked at. It's been a rather frustrating and long process!
Hi Amizy ,
Glad to see that adding useRootUrlFilePicker=0 enabled the SharePoint and OneDrive options this confirms the workaround is effective.
The error you’re encountering when browsing or locating the file is likely related to file location or permissions. Ensure your PBIX file is stored in the root directory of your OneDrive or SharePoint, not in subfolders or shared libraries, as the picker can have trouble accessing those.
Also, verify you’re signed into Power BI with the same Microsoft account that owns or has full access to the file. If the file is shared or from a team site, that may be causing the issue. Using an incognito/private browser window can help rule out cached login problems.
Lastly, check that SharePoint and OneDrive integration settings are enabled in the Power BI Admin portal.
If you have any future queries, feel free to reach out to me.
Thank you.
it's not "effective" as it doesn't allow the same access to files as existed prior to last Monday. You can't really expect users to save all their work in the root folder of SharePoint or OneDrive.
