Images from Common data services not visible on Power BI

Hi,

I am facing issue while displaying images from common data service (CDS) into Power BI.

In CDS, images are stored in a column of data type 'Image' (e.g. column name is 'Image1'), and when I import CDS data to Power BI, for single column 'Image1' in CDS, I get 3 columns in Power BI (Image1_url, Image1_ID and Image1_timestamp).

I use column 'Image1_url' to display images and I am changing Data Category to 'Image URL', but images are neither getting displayed in Power BI desktop nor in Power BI Services.

Value getting stored in column 'Image1_url' is like below:

But when I hit the URL ''https://<servername>.crm5.dynamics.com' in the same browser where Power BI services are opened and then I refresh the Power BI report on services, I can see the images and I don't face any issues.

I don't want to hit the URL everytime to display the images, any help on this is appreciated.

Thanks,

Sushant

Hi @nagpuresushant ,

Please refer the document.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/power-bi-images-tables#considerations .

Considerations

  • The image needs to be in one of these file formats: .bmp, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, or .svg
  • The URL needs to be anonymously accessible, not on a site that requires a sign-in, such as SharePoint. However, if images are hosted on SharePoint or OneDrive, you may be able to get an embed code that points directly to them.

Best Regards,

Jay
