I want to be able o show my powerbi report on a Smart Tv

I would like to show my report automatically on a TV or smart TV hung on the wall of the office so my staff can see our business numbers continously as the report is set to refresh daily to powerbi automatically.

Do anyone know what i can do to view this automatically online

@uzy  You can follow the below step as well.

1. Use a Web Browser on the Smart TV

  • Open the browser on your smart TV and navigate to the Power BI Service (app.powerbi.com).
  • Log in with your Power BI account and display the report in full-screen mode (press F11 or equivalent on the browser).
  • Make sure the TV remains powered on and connected to the internet.

2. Leverage Power BI Publish to Web (Caution: Public Sharing)

  • If your report doesn't contain sensitive information, you can use the "Publish to Web" feature.
  • Generate a public link for the report and open it on your TV’s browser.
  • This method is simple but avoid it for sensitive or internal data as it makes the report accessible to anyone with the link.

3. Use a Streaming Device or Mini PC

  • Connect a streaming device (e.g., Amazon Fire Stick, Chromecast) or a mini PC to the TV.
  • Use the streaming device's browser to access the Power BI Service or mirror your desktop browser to the TV.
  • Alternatively, install apps like Microsoft Edge (if available) to access Power BI directly.

4. Setup a Dashboard Loop

  • If you have multiple reports, you can create a Power BI dashboard that loops through different visuals.
  • Tools like https://www.dashboards.io (or similar) can help create a live dashboard loop for display.

5. Embed in a Kiosk System or Screen Management Software

  • Use screen management software like ScreenCloud or XOGO.
  • These allow you to display live web content on smart TVs, turning them into information screens.
  • You can paste your Power BI report's link into these apps, and they handle the display.

6. Use a Dedicated Power BI App (for Microsoft 365 Users)

  • If your smart TV supports apps, search for a Power BI app in your TV's app store (e.g., Samsung or LG store).
  • Log in, navigate to the report, and set it in full-screen mode.

Additional Tips:

  • Automate Login and Display: To avoid manually logging in every day, consider keeping the browser or device logged in (ensure the area is secure).
  • Optimize Refresh Rates: Power BI refresh rates depend on your license type, so ensure the daily refresh suits your needs.

Please mark this as solution if it helps. Appreciate Kudos.

Hi @uzy,

To display your Power BI report on a smart TV:

  1. Use the TV Browser: Open the Power BI Service in the TV's browser and log in.
  2. Streaming Devices: Use a Fire Stick or Chromecast to access Power BI via a browser.
  3. Publish to Web: Create a public link (if data isn’t sensitive) and open it on the TV.
  4. Screen Management Apps: Use tools like ScreenCloud or XOGO to display the report.

Set the report to full-screen mode and ensure it's logged in or auto-refreshes for updates!

Please mark this as solution if it helps. Appreciate Kudos
