I keep getting this error message 'The expression refers to multiple columns. cannot be converted.'

Hi All,

I'm calculating a new measure and this is my calculation: total june = calculate(sum(append1,append1[month] = June)) and it keeps returning the error message 'The expression refers to multiple columns. Multiple columns cannot be converted to a scalar value'.

Could anyone tell me why this is happening and how to fix it?

Please try the formula as below:

     total june = calculate(sum(append1 [Value field]) , append1[month] = "June")

    or

    total june = calculate(COUNTROWS(append1),append1[month] = "June")

    Best Regards,
