Hi walidb 

 

I think you need to ensure that the SSL Cert is installed on the Power BI Gateway server.

 

It appears that you also do not have a Gateway server installed and as far as I am aware you will need to have the data refreshed via a Power BI Gatway.

 

You will have to install the client on the Gateway server as described below when using it on Power BI Desktop Configuring Power BI Connectivity to PostgreSQL Database - oxcrx34285

Hi there GilbertQ,

Thank you for the clarification. Just to confirm, even if the database is accessible online through PGAdmin or PBI Desktop ODBC using my own machine & i want to connect the PBI SERVICE (Web ) to the DB, would I still require a data gateway?

 

Additionally, if a data gateway is needed, does it have to be installed on a Windows VM? As the database server and most servers in the cluster are Ubuntu machines.

 

Lastly, if we install the gateway on a Windows machine and only run it for 1-2 hours every 2 days, and schedule the PBI Dataflow refresh for the same time, would it work?
