How to use the common data model?

Hello,

For my internship i am making a sales demo application with the AdventureWorksDB. Now they asked me to use the Common Data Model (CDM) but i have no idea how to use it. I've done some research and downloaded the GitHub files but i have no clue where to start or how to start.

Can anybody provide me with some help or maybe some good tutorials on how to use this model?
