Is there anyone know how to unshare a dataset if I find that someone is building a new report on a dataset but it shouldn't be allowed? Just like following, there is no "person" icon in the top dataset which is not shared while the bottom one has shared and has extra reports building on top of it. Likely those reports are built outside the workspace and we have no visibility and therefore we wish to unshare it to avoid data leak.
Hi @synru
If a user creates a report based on a dataset, indicating that the user has build permission on the dataset, check whether the build permission is shared with the user when sharing the report or dataset, which can be viewed through the dataset permission management interface,If the user has the build permission for this dataset, remove it, you can refer to the following link.
Manage dataset access permissions - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
Build permission for shared datasets - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
If you share the report with others, the dataset will be automatically shared with the user, so you cannot unshare the dataset, if you do not share the dataset, the user cannot view the report, if you are worried about data leakage, do not give the build permission to the user when sharing.
You can refer to the following link.

Hello @v-xinruzhu-msft ,
Thanks for reply. We didnt give build permission to user. What I can see in both report and dataset permission, it's either showing Read/app reshare / reshare permissions for orgnization but it didn't have build permission. Will that still allow people to build new report?
Other people below who have all permission are workspace admin in our team and haven't create additional reports.
