How to show Reset button when adding a report as a link in the App?

Hello friends,

I am adding reports as links into my App (embedding into "Content Area")

But then, I loose the Reset button and all other menu I have in the reports.

Instead, it only shows this menu:

If I add reports as "Content" and not as a link, then I cannot hide certain pages and cannot add reports from other Workspaces.
Any ideas?

Hi @iBusinessBI,

We appreciate your inquiry through the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

Based on my understanding, the limited toolbar is expected when reports are added as links, as they are treated as external URLs. Instead, you may add the report as a content item to retain the Reset button and utilise the App settings to fulfil your other requirements.

Please follow the approach outlined below, which may help resolve the issue:

  1. In the App’s Content tab, click Add content (instead of Add a link) and select your report. This ensures that the full toolbar, including the Reset button, remains visible.

  2. Grant Viewer access to your App’s workspace for the other workspace via Access settings. Then, add the report from the other workspace using Add content.

  3. Navigate to the Navigation tab in your App, expand the report, and click the eye icon to hide pages that you do not wish to be visible.

  4. Update the App and test it to ensure that the Reset button, hidden pages, and cross-workspace reports function as expected. Finally, share the App with your audience.

Additionally, please refer to the following link for further guidance:

@v-pnaroju-msft

I tried to Add content, but it does not allow me to hide certain Pages of the Report.

It shows all the Pages, there is no "eye" icons on Pages, only at the Report level

This is soooo strange

Can you fix it?

Hi @iBusinessBI

When I look at my apps, I can see the reset default button. Could it be potentially the version of the browser you are using?

@GilbertQ

Are you embedding the reports as links as I've mentioned in the post?
