How to set up a data source ODBC on Power BI Service

Hi Everyone,

My data source is locating in MongoDB. I have successfully managed to used the ODBC connector in Power BI Desktop.

I would like to create a data source on Power BI Service to get data from MongoDB via ODBC connector.

Is it possible to connect MongoDB to Power BI Service via ODBC connector ?

How can I create a data source for ODBC on Power BI Service?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Kind regards

Zhanna

Hi. You need a Data Gateway in a vm at the same network of your mongoDB.

You can read more about gateway here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-gateway-onprem

The VM with the Gateway installed should also install the ODBC and work as a bridge between PowerBi Service and your MongoDB

I hope that helps,
