How to refresh PowerBI Service Data from Access Database on Network
I have an Access Database in our local Network drives which I manage a lot of our product & pricing information. I've been testing PowerBI and want to find a way to make this information more access...
If not using a gateway, you will need to open the .pbix file in Power BI Desktop, then refresh the data, then re-publish the report
If you want to be able to refresh from the Power BI Service (Published Report and Dataset), you will need to install and configure a Power BI Gateway. The gateway will allow you to do a manual or scheduled refresh from the Power BI Service. Once the dataset is refreshed, the updated data is shown in the report- there is no need for the users to do anything.
