How to publish on the web using the data set between workspaces

I tried to use a dataset from my workspace for a report in another workspace pro, and then set up the web publication of the report in the workspace pro, but I was unsuccessful.

I also tried to use a dataset from another pro workspace for a report in another pro workspace and was unsuccessful in enabling web sharing.

Note: all reports were using an Excel spreadsheet data source.

Hi, @lorduakiti

When you talk about the “web publication” and “web sharing”, do you mean the “Publish to web” function in the Power BI service?

If so, I think it’s a limitation that is expalined in the official document:

You can’t use the “Publish to web” function for the reports that are using a shared dataset that is stored in a different workspace from the report

Thank you very much!

Hi @lorduakiti ,

Didn't understand your query correctly. Are you trying to Connect live to an existing Power BI Dataset and then publish the report in separate workspace? This is possible without any issues.

Is the same your query? What error are you getting on unsuccessful tries?
