How to ignore certain columns when using export to excel option in power bi

I have a report published in pbi service. It is a matrix visual. Then i exported the data to excel format. In that sheet, i could see all the columns that is used in the matrix visual.

I have used date dimension table and in my fact table also I have date columns.

So when we export the data from that matrix visual, I have date columns from both date dimension table and fact table as well.

I don't want the date columns from date dimension table to come while exporting data to excel.

Is there a way?

Hi @Imagauthamam ,

Power BI gives you the option to export the summarized data or underlying data. Since your visualization has an aggregate (you changed count to average), you'll have two options:

  • Summarized data
  • Underlying data

According to my knowledge, Power BI only support export summarized data or underlying data, your requirement could not be realized currently.

An idea similar with what you expect has been submitted in Microsoft Idea (powerbi.com), please vote it up and you can add comments. Hopes Power Bi will implement this in nearby future.
