Hello,
I am looking for a way to view the usage of a particular dataflow.
We have this dataflow controlling RLS, and is being used across different business areas.
Is there a way to find all datasets across all workspaces that read this dataflow as a source?
Any help appreciated!
Hi. There is no view in the current tool to show that information. However, you can make it. You can use the Power Bi Rest API to get this data coding a small script or something like that. You must have a power bi admin account to proceed.
First get all dataset in the organization:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/admin/datasets-get-datasets-as-admin
Then get the dataset's sources running the following request for each one:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/admin/datasets-get-datasources-as-admin
The last request shows the sources involved. If you add all that information to a table, dataframe or whatever grid you are using in the script. You can search or filter the datasets using the specific dataflow.
I hope that helps,
Happy to help!
