How to filter data based on user logged in

I know there is a request for this feature: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/9682242-how-to-filter-data-based-on-user-logged-in

None the less, this is one of the obvious must have's, there should be some work around I hope. I googled, but found pretty much nothing.

Can somebody suggest the approach or my only option is to wait for Microsoft to roll it out, if it's ever going to happen of course?

Thank you very much!

  • Currently, row-level security is only available when using a live connection to an SSAS data source using the AS Connector or the Enterprise Gateway.

Row-level security was always left out of Power Pivot and reserved for SSAS, and I don't know whether there's going to be a direction-change on this with Power BI.
