Hi all,
I would like to know if the following is possible.
One of my end-users is using the filter pane and would like to enter multiple values to filter. For example via basic filtering:
What I told him to do is to use the adanced filtering and use contains, but that only accepts 2 values.
Another possibility is to use basic filtering and enter the keywords one by one and then selecting the ones he need. Unfortunately there can be hundreds of records and there is no Select all functionality like Excel.
What I could do is create a formula in desktop with the desired keywords, but of course I do not want to keep on changing this for end users. Online I also found a custom visual for filtering but I do not want to add a special custom filter for one end-user.
The funny thing is that the end-user told me that he was able to use the semi-colon sign ";" in a previous version of the report to add multiple keywords. I did not know this and also can't get that to work.
Any thoughts?
Hi. I don't think the semi color ever worked. Never heard of that. If you don't want to do all the things you are saying I can only think one. Gather how many combinations they are trying to run, then you can add the column many times to the filter pane. That will give you two more advanced filters for each one. If they are using 6 combinations it's adding two more times the column to the filter pane.
I hope that helps,
Happy to help!
Hi @ibarrau
Thanks for your reply. I thought about that one as well but that can't work either because when adding a second filter you can not add the "Or" as you can in the first one.
