How to connect usage metrics dataset for all workspace

hi i am a powerbi portal admin, we want manager our reports and dashboard.

we have 1 premium node for test enviorment and share with many workspaces, when those reports move to production we want to clear those reports in testing based on how long those reports are not create.

For example ,user created report 1 in testing and send it to producition already and we will check if those report already on production and already over 3 month nobody used then we will clear it.

i need to connect the usage metrics dataset for allworkspaces that i managed not only a specific one.  that's mean i need usage metricts dataset of admin portal like below picture

Hi @Anonymous,

If you are lucky and have a Premium license you could give a try to import mode via Analysis Services as XMLA endpoint. This is only available if the datasets are on Premium capacity workspaces.

You can find the XMLA URL at Settings of workspace, as "Workspace Connection".

Import each dataset connection in a pbix as Analysis Services, by entering the xmla url as the server address and select "Import" mode. Therefore, you should be able to combine all metrics usage in a single dataset.

Hope it helps!

Hi, @Anonymous

It’s my pleasure to answer for you.

I’m sorry that there is no way to see the usage of each workspace even if you used ‘usage metricts’.So I think you may have to manually find and delete these text reports.

However,You can later create reports in the pipeline(Premium), which can create reports in stages(develpopment-test-production) to meet your needs.

If it doesn’t solve your problem, please feel free to ask me.

Hello @Anonymous

Power BI has not developed a mechanism to import usage metrics for all the workspaces yet, you can post your idea if you want.

We can only import usage metrics for single workspaces at a time.

If we talk about a workaroud for this you can start publishing your all reports in a single workspace and then extract usage metrics, but doesnt works for all the cases.

Regards,

I would appreciate Kudos if my response was helpful. I would also appreciate it if you would Mark this as a Solution if it solved the problem. Thanks!
