How to best handle report ID changes in embeds (SharePoint, Teams)?

If you remove and republish in the cloud service the same Power BI report without changing any tab names, all your IDs will still be changed, which in turn breaks all embeds (SharePoint Online and Teams in our case). Is there a way to fix PBI embed references in bulk in SharePoint/Teams or do you have to edit them all manually?

Incidentally, the reason why we unpublished/republished a PBIX is that sometimes we've had issues with pbix updates done via OneDrive not being picked up by PBI, at least not in a timely fashion, and there's no way that I know of to force a manual refresh.

Hi @otravers,

You had to manually change it to fix broken embedded contents.

In fact, new report which you delete and re publish not has any relationship to original one.

For your scenario, I'd like to suggest you publish modified report to replace original one, it not effect report id.

When the dataset is loaded from OneDrive, you can no longer publish from Power BI Desktop.
