I have a dashboard that contains a pinned (live) report page. To add this dashboard to my app, i need to include the report that it is based on in my app. This report only contains the single page that is pinned to my dashboard. I want to add this page to my app as a dashboard so that it includes the Q&A feature.
Now i would like to hide this report so that users cannot see it in the navigation pane. However, when i hide the report the dashboard in the app displays the following error message "The report shown in this tile doesn't exist or you don't have permission to view it".
Is this the intended behaviour? Is there any fix or workaround to this?
Solved! Go to Solution.
That is intended behavior. A dashboard tile expects to be able to link back to the underlying report visual.
You will also run into all kinds of meta data trouble when you either move the report or modify it.
One thing to consider: If you pin a report page (rather than a report visual) to a dashboard tile then the UX is slightly different...
