How to add column in sematic model?

Hi I published Power BI report with sematic model (sematic model is in my sharepoint). Then I add one column in sematic model (in sharepoint and save it). When I refresh report, Power BI cannot see column which I added in sematic model.

When I open sematic model I cannot see that colum  which I addded in sharepoint in excel.

What I am doing wrong?

Can I add column in sematic model?

Is it possible to open published report in classic Power BI app?

Hello @Yvvvel,

Let's try to create a new workspace. Open "App.powerbi.com" and click wrokspace --> New Workspace. And modify you worskpace name your licence etc. Below images you can see examples.

You can open your PBI report in Power bı desktop. İf you don't have you can download your report in PBI Service which seems report has been published in PBI Service.

And, open the report in your PBI Desktop. In the home section there is Publish Icon. Click it and save into your new workspace.

However, you want to see latest data. In pbı desktop, you can refresh in home section. And go to transform data, check your steps.

Hello @Yvvvel,

When you added a column in your sharepoint. Power bı semantic model has automaticly understands you added a column(if semantic model has been refreshed!). Even it refreshed and you still cannot see. You need to check Transform Data(Power Query). Maybe you selected required column in last steps.

İf you want to add a new column that you don't have in your data. Yes you can. Power Query add a new column and DAX new column.

You can create Power BI App and to see your reports in Power BI App. But you need at least Pro licence. Cannot done in "My Workspace".

How can I open transform data in published report? I cannot see this option. The option which I have is: File, View, Read view, Mobile, open data model (check PrtSc, sorry its in polish, but I translated features)

I have a licence Pro, but when I published report, it is published in my work space. Can I change it?

The biggest issue is that I cannnot add column in Power BI which I already added in excel (which is my semantic model).

Hello @Yvvvel,

You need to open your semantic model which you can create new column(dax), new measure etc.

You published your report to PBI Service. I assume that you used Power BI Desktop before publishing. This is where you can open Transform data(Power Query). İf you were not got sharepoint data in DataFlow gen1.

If you published your report select your Pro Workspace. And in your pro workspace you can create PBI App.

When I open data model, there I can add new measure, column (dax), but how can I update semantic model? I added new column in excel and thouse new column in not available in semantic model.

How can I publish report in Pro Workspace? Where I try to publish report in Power BI there is only "My work space" available
