How to add another table to existing dataset, while connection is DirectQuery?

Hi everyone,

I've already developed a dataset via DirectQuery and now I have to add another table to that dataset . For this reason I go from 'Get Data' but it wants to switch to import mode.

My question is :

1- can I access to any other table via DirectQuery? if yes, How?

Hi there, if you have your model set to direct query then as far as I know you can only have that one direct query in your model.

I do know that if you want to then have another dataset you have to change it from DirectQuery to Import mode and then you can import your other data.

So you mean , If I defined two tables in my data model first via Direct Query, It's not possible to add another table to that model anymore, unless I import all of those tables from scratch , then do I need again to define my messures and groups , etc?

Ok if you can add the tables directly into your DirectQuery Source, then you can indeed the select the additional new table from your DirectQuery
