How to Automatically Reset Sub Category Slicer When Parent Category Changes in Power BI?

Hello Power BI Community,

I am encountering an issue with cascading slicers in my Power BI report and would appreciate your insights.

Report Setup:

• I have two slicers in my report:
  1. Parent Category (first slicer)
  2. Sub Category (second slicer, cascades based on the selection of the Parent Category)

Problem:

When I make a selection in the Sub Category slicer and then change the selection in the Parent Category slicer, the Sub Category slicer does not reset or clear the previous selection. The slicer continues to display the last selected subcategory, even though the available options might no longer be valid after the parent category changes.

Desired Behavior:

I would like the Sub Category slicer to automatically reset or clear its selection whenever a new selection is made in the Parent Category slicer, so that the user is prompted to make a new selection based on the updated list of subcategories.

Question:

Can anyone provide a solution to automatically clear or reset the cascading slicer when the parent slicer changes? I have tried various settings but haven’t found a way to achieve this behavior.
